Each week, we have a team of individuals who serve by picking up donations from local grocery stores in Maple Valley/Covington area. Items are loaded and transported into your personal vehicle back to The Storehouse to be unloaded and weighed.
Availability: Thursdays and Fridays from 8-10am.
Each week, we recieve donations from Costco and other local grocery stores that need to be sorted based on the needs of our clients so they can be distributed.
Availability: Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturday mornings from 9-11:30am.
Volunteers are needed to sweep the warehouse, wipe down food storage shelves, along with general cleaning items within the warehouse in preparation for distribution days.
Availability: Mondays and Thursdays from 9-11:30am
This team of volunteers assists our clients during distribution which includes set up/tear down, client check in, parking lot management, food box assembly, and cart assistance.
Availability: Mondays 3-6:30pm, Fridays 8:30-12:30, Saturdays 8-11:30am
Volunteers are needed to harvest and glean from the garden behind The Storehouse. No prior experience is needed! We are looking for weekly volunteers that can be on call as needed. There is an orientation and training through Farmer Chris or Farmer John.
Availability: Weekly as needed
Must be 16 years or older (if a group wants to volunteer together that has a younger person, please email info@covingtonstorehouse.org)
An individual 16-17 years old is required to fill out our parent/guardian form located here.
Must fill out volunteer intake form and pass a Washington State background check (if over age 18).
Must be physically capable and able to lift at least 25 lbs repeatedly throughout shifts.
Ability to work on feet for several hours at a time.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Comfortable in a busy/fast paced environment.
Ability to work well within a team of both fellow volunteers and staff.
Our Backpack Buddy program provides weekend food bags for over 200 students in our community every single week. Without these food bags, hundreds of students wouldn't have access to consistent food over the weekend.
You can now link your Fred Meyer Rewards card to a local nonprofit! Rewards customers still receive rewards points, fuel points and rebates.

Some corporations offer to match donations, doubling your impact.
We are a registered 501.c.3 organization, and are already listed on the Boeing and Microsoft giving programs.
US Bank, and other local banks as well, have a 'Charitable Giving" program for their employees.
One of the best ways to support The Storehouse is through planning and hosting a food drive! This is the perfect way for younger volunteers to get involved and give back. We will work with you on marketing, goal setting, and help you in making your food drive a success. *We are not currently accepting textiles or household items. Click below to get in touch!
All volunteers must wear a close-toed shoe and shirts with sleeves (no tank tops/cut offs). We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a pair of outdoor work gloves.
We can accept court ordered community service hours and can accept school service hours on a case-by-case basis. Contact us directly to find out more.
We do occasionally have opportunities for groups to volunteer. Please contact us directly via email to discuss what opportunties may exist for your group!

We understand that situations arise where you may not be able to volunteer on your scheduled day/time. Please contact us immediately so that we have time to fill your shift accordingly.
Generally we are closed on all major holidays and during winter break.
